EVIL QUOTES FROM THE POPES PAST AND PRESENT
The Pope is
not simply the representative of Jesus Christ. On the contrary, he is Jesus
Christ Himself, under the veil of the flesh." (Evangelical Christendom,
January 1, 1895, pg. 15, published in London by J. S. Phillips)
"Against
this background of love towards Holy Church, 'the pillar and bulwark of the
truth' (1 Tim 3:15), we readily understand the devotion of Saint Francis of
Assisi for 'THE LORD POPE', the daughterly outspokenness of Saint Catherine of
Siena towards the one whom she called 'SWEET CHRIST ON EARTH'." (Pope John
Paul II, Apostolic Exhortation on the Consecrated Life and Its Mission in the
Church and in the World, to the bishops and clergy, religious orders and
congregations, societies of apostolic life, secular institutes, and all the
faithful, given in Rome, at Saint Peter's, March 25, 1996)
"The
Pope is of so great dignity, and so exalted that he is not a mere man, but as
it were God and the vicar of God." (Ferraris Ecclesiastical dictionary)
"All
names which in the Scriptures are applied to Christ, by virtue of which it is
established that He is over the church, all the same names are applied to the
Pope." (On the Authority of the Councils, book 2, chapter 17)
"The
Pope and God are the same, so he has all power in Heaven and earth." (Pope
Pius V, quoted in Barclay, Chapter XXVII, p. 218, "Cities Petrus
Bertanous)
"To
believe that our Lord God the Pope has not the power to decree as he is
decreed, is to be deemed heretical." (the Gloss "Extravagantes"
o.f Pope John XXII Cum inter, Tit. XIV, Cap. IV. Ad Callem Sexti Decretalium,
Paris, 1685)
"Hence
the Pope is crowned with a triple crown, as king of heaven and of earth and of
the lower regions." (Ferraris, «Prompta Bibliotheca», 1763, Volume VI,
'Papa II', p.26)
"The
Saviour Himself is the door of the sheepfold: 'I am the door of the sheep.'
Into this fold of Jesus Christ, no man may enter unless he be led by the
Sovereign Pontiff; and only if they be united to him can men be saved, for the
Roman Pontiff is the Vicar of Christ and His personal representative on earth."
(Pope John XXIII in his homily to the Bishops and faithful assisting at his
coronation on November 4, 1958)
"This
is our last lesson to you: receive it, engrave it in your minds, all of you: by
God's commandment salvation is to be found nowhere but in the Church; the
strong and effective instrument of salvation is none other than the Roman
Pontificate." (Pope Leo XIII, Allocution for the 25th anniversary of his
election, February 20, 1903; Papal Teachings: The Church, Benedictine Monks of
Solesmes, St. Paul Editions, Boston, 1962, par. 653)
"The
Pope takes the place of Jesus Christ on earth...by divine right the Pope has
supreme and full power in faith, in morals over each and every pastor and his
flock. He is the true vicar, the head of the entire church, the father and
teacher of all Christians. He is the infallible ruler, the founder of dogmas,
the author of and the judge of councils; the universal ruler of truth, the
arbiter of the world, the supreme judge of heaven and earth, the judge of all,
being judged by no one, God himself on earth." (Quoted in the New York
Catechism)
"The
Roman Pontiff, head of the college of bishops, enjoys this infallibility in
virtue of his office, when, as Supreme Pastor and teacher of all the
faithful--who confirms his brethren in the faith--he proclaims by a definitive
act a doctrine pertaining to faith or morals....The infallibility promised to
the Church is also present in the body of bishops when, together with Peter’s
successor, ‘they exercise the supreme Magisterium,’ above all in an Ecumenical
Council. When the Church through its supreme Magistrium proposes a doctrine
‘for belief as being divinely revealed,’ and as the teaching of Christ, the
definitions ‘must be adhered to with the obedience of faith.’ This infallibility
extends as far as the doposit of divine revelation itself." (Catechism of
the Catholic Church, #891, 1994 edition)
Popes and
Priests Declared Authority to Forgive Sin
"And
God himself is obliged to abide by the judgment of his priest and either not to
pardon or to pardon, according as they refuse to give absolution, provided the
penitent is capable of it." (Liguori, «Duties and Dignities of the
Priest», p.27)
"This
judicial authority will even include the power to forgive sin." (The
Catholic Encyclopaedia Vol xii, article ‘Pope’ pg 265)
"the
poor sinner kneels at his confessor's feet. He KNOWS he is not speaking to an
ordinary man but to 'ANOTHER CHRIST,' He hears the words: 'I absolve thy
sins... and the HIDEOUS LOAD OF SINS DROPS FROM HIS SOUL FOREVER."
(William Doyle, Shall I be a priest, pp 14, 15)
Vatican
Claims Power over ALL Churches
"No man
has a right to choose his religion." (New York Freeman, official journal of
Bishop Hughes, Jan 26, 1852)
"Protestantism
has not, and never can have, any right where Catholicity has triumphed."
(Catholic Review, June 1875)
"It is
error to believe that Every man is free to embrace and profess that religion
which, guided by the light of reason, he shall consider true." (Pope Pius
IX, The Syllabus (of Errors), Issued in 1864, Section III, Indifferentism,
Latitudinarianism, #15)
"It is
error to believe that hence it has been wisely decided by law, in some Catholic
countries, that persons coming to reside therein shall enjoy the public
exercise of their own peculiar worship." (Pope Pius IX, The Syllabus (of
Errors), Issued in 1864, Section X, Errors Having Reference to Modern
Liberalism, #78)
Vatican
Claims Power to Change God's Law
"Not
the Creator of Universe, in Genesis 2:1-3,-but the Catholic Church can claim
the honor of having granted man a pause to his work every seven days." (S.
C. Mosna, Storia della Domenica, 1969, pp. 366-367)
"The
Pope is of great authority and power that he can modify, explain, or interpret
even divine laws... The Pope can modify divine law, since his power is not of
man, but of God, and he acts as vicegerent of God upon earth." (Lucius
Ferraris, Prompta Ribliotheca, Papa, art. 2, translated)
"The
Pope has the power to change times, to abrogate laws, and to dispense with all
things, even the precepts of Christ. The Pope has the authority and often
exercised it, to dispense with the command of Christ." (Decretal, de
Tranlatic Episcop. Cap. (The Pope can modify divine law.) Ferraris'
Ecclesiastical Dictionary)
"Had
she not such power, she could not have done that in which all modern
religionists agree with her; --she could not have substituted the observance of
Sunday the first day of the week, for the observance of Saturday the seventh
day, a change for which there is no Scriptural authority." (Rev. Stephan
Keenan, A Doctrinal Catechism, On the Obedience Due to the Church, chap. 2, p.
174. (Imprimatur, John Cardinal McCloskey, archbishop of New York)
"The authority
of the church could therefore not be bound to the authority of the Scriptures,
because the Church had changed...the Sabbath into Sunday, not by command of
Christ, but by its own authority." (Canon and Tradition, p. 263)
"Is not
yet too late for Protestants to redeem themselves. Will they do it?... will
they indeed take the written word only, the Scripture alone, as their sole
authority and their sole standard? Or will they still hold the indefensible,
self contradictory, and suicidal doctrine and practice of following the
authority of the Catholic church and wear the SIGN of her authority? Will they
keep the Sabbath of the Lord, the seventh day, according to Scripture? Or will
they keep the Sunday according to the tradition of the Catholic church."
(Ibid, page 31)
Roman
Catholic Church is Babylon
"It is
interesting to note how often our Church has availed herself of practices which
were in common use among pagans...Thus it is true, in a certain sense, that
some Catholic rites and ceremonies are a reproduction of those of pagan
creeds." (The Externals of the Catholic Church, Her Government,
Ceremonies, Festivals, Sacramentals and Devotions, by John F. Sullivan, p 156,
published by P.J. Kennedy, NY, 1942)
"It has
often been charged... that Catholicism is overlaid with many pagan
incrustations. Catholicism is ready to accept that accusation - and even to
make it her boast... the great god Pan is not really dead, he is
baptized." (The Story of Catholicism p 37)
"Cardinal
Newman admits in his book that; the "The use of temples, and these
dedicated to particular saints, and ornamented on occasions with branches of
trees; incense, lamps, and candles; votive offerings on recovery from illness;
holy water; asylums; holydays and seasons, use of calendars, processions,
blessings on the fields; sacerdotal vestments, the tonsure, the ring in
marriage, turning to the East, images at a later date, perhaps the
ecclesiastical chant, and the Kyrie Eleison [Note 17], are all of pagan origin,
and sanctified by their adoption into the Church. (374)" (An Essay on the
The Development of the Christian Doctrine John Henry, Cardinal Newman, p.359)
"The
penetration of the religion of Babylon became so general and well known that
Rome was called the New Babylon." (Faith of our fathers 1917 ed. Cardinal
Gibbons, p. 106)
"In
order to attach to Christianity great attraction in the eyes of the nobility, the
priests adopted the outer garments and adornments which were used in pagan
cults." (Life of Constantine, Eusabius, cited in Altai-Nimalaya, p. 94)
"The
Church did everything it couldto stamp out such 'pagan' rites, but had to
capitulate and allow the rites to continue with only the name of the local
diety changed to some Christian saint's name." (Religious Tradition and
Myth. Dr. Edwin Goodenough, Professor of Religion, Harvard University. p. 56,
57)
"The
popes filled the place of the vacant emperors at Rome, inheriting their power,
their prestige, and their titles from PAGANISM." (Stanley's History, page
40)

Church Speaks Against God's Word
The decree
set forth in the year 1229 A.D. by the Council of Valencia... places Bible on
The Index of Forbidden Books. The doctrine withholds "it is forbidden for
laymen (common man) to read the Old and New Testaments. - We forbid them most
severely to have the above books in the popular vernacular. The lords of the
districts shall carefully seek out the heretics in dwellings, hovels, and
forests, and even their underground retreats shall be entirely wiped out."
(Council Tolosanum, Pope Gregory IX, Anno. Chr. 1229)
"The
very nature of the Bible ought to prove to any thinking man the impossibility
of its being the one safe method to find out what the Savior taught."
(Ibid., p. 67)
"The
Scriptures indeed is a divine book but it is a dead letter, which has to be
explained, and cannot exercise the action which the preacher can obtain."
(Our Priesthood, p. 155)
"The
simple fact is that the Bible, like all dead letters, calls for a living
interpreter." (The Faith of Millions, p. 155)
"The
Bible was not intended to be a textbook of Christian religion." (Catholic
Facts, p. 50)
"The
belief in the Bible as the sole source of faith is unhistorical, illogical,
fatal to the virtue of faith, and destructive of unity." (The Catholic
Encyclopedia, Volume XIII, Protestantism, Section III A - Sola Scriptura

Catholic
Church Declares Mary as REDEEMER!
"The
foundation of all our confidence is found in the Blessed Virgin Mary. God has
committed to her the treasury of all good things, in order that everyone may
know that through her are obtained every hope, every grace, and all salvation.
For this is His will: That we obtain everything through Mary." (Pope Pius
IX)
"To
such extent did Mary suffer and almost die with her suffering and dying Son; to
such extent did she surrender her maternal rights over her Son for : man's
salvation . . that we may rightly say she redeemed the human race together with
Christ." (Benedict XV, Inter Sodalicia, 1918)
"O
Mary, the guardian of our peace and the dispensatrix of heavenly graces."
(Leo XIII, Supremi Apostolatus, 1883)
"In
fact, by being assumed into heaven she has not laid aside the office of
salvation but by the manifold intercession she continues to obtain for us the
grace of eternal salvation." (John Paul II, Dives in Misericordia, 1980,
quoting Lumen Gentium)
Does this
sound like the church of Christ? I say not a chance! The Roman Catholic Church
declares that the pope is the "Vicar of Christ". It is clear that he
is not the vicar of Christ, but the Vicar of Satan. You can now see from the
above how the antichrist speaks.
In 1302 Pope
Boniface said this in a letter to the Catholic Church:
Furthermore,
we declare, we proclaim, we define that it is absolutely necessary for
salvation that every human creature be subject to the Roman Pontiff.vi
Pope Leo
XIII said these things about the role of the Papacy and the Roman Church:
Our thoughts
went out towards the immense multitude of those who are strangers to the
gladness that filled all Catholic hearts: some because they lie in absolute
ignorance of the Gospel; others because they dissent from the Catholic belief,
though they bear the name of Christians.
This thought
has been, and is, a source of deep concern to Us; for it is impossible to think
of such a large portion of mankind deviating, as it were, from the right path,
as they move away from Us, and not experience a sentiment of innermost grief.
But since We hold upon this earth the place of God Almighty...viii
But the
supreme teacher in the Church is the Roman Pontiff. Union of minds, therefore,
requires, together with a perfect accord in the one faith, complete submission
and obedience of will to the Church and to the Roman Pontiff, as to God
Himself.ix
Saint Pope
Nicholas I (pope from April 24, 858, to November 13, 867):
Pope
Nicholas I"I am in all and above all, so that God himself, and I, the
vicar of God, hath both one consistory…and I am able to do almost all that God
can do…I then, being above all…seem by this reason, to be above all gods."
(Source: "The Church Historians of England: Reformation Period," by
Josiah Pratt, pub. 1856, p.159)
"Wherefore,
No marvel if it be in my power to dispense with all things, yea, with the
precepts of Christ." (Source: ibid., Pratt, p. 159)
The
following text was written by Pope Nicholas I in response to a letter he
received from the Catholic bishops of Lorraine: You affirm that you are
submissive to your sovereign, in order to obey the words of the apostle Peter,
who said, ‘Be subject to the prince, because he is above all mortals in this
world.’ But you appear to forget that we, as the vicar of Christ, have the
right to judge all men: thus, before obeying kings, you owe obedience to us;
and if we declare a monarch guilty, you should reject him from your communion
until we pardon him.
"We
alone have the power to bind and to loose, to absolve Nero and to condemn him;
and Christians can not, under penalty of excommunication, execute other
judgment than ours, which alone is infallible. People are not the judges of
their princes; they should obey without murmuring the most iniquitous orders;
they should bow their foreheads under the chastisements which it pleases kings
to inflict on them, for a sovereign can violate the fundamental laws of the
State, and seize upon the wealth of the citizen, by imposts or by
confiscations; he can even dispose of their lives, without any of his subjects
having the right to address to him simple remonstrances. But if we declare a
king heretical and sacrilegious, if we drive him from the Church, clergy and
laity, whatever their rank, are freed from their oaths of fidelity, and may
revolt against his power."

To an envoy
from Constantinople, Pope Nicholas said:
"Know,
prince, that the vicars of Christ (the popes) are above the judgment of
mortals, and that the most powerful sovereigns have no right to punish the
crimes of popes, how enormous soever they may be….; for no matter how
scandalous or criminal may be the debaucheries of the pontiffs, you should obey
them, for they are seated on the chair of St. Peter.
"Fear,
then, our wrath and the thunders of our vengeance, for Jesus Christ has
appointed us with his own mouth absolute judges of all men, and kings
themselves are submitted to our authority." (Source: ibid., Gihon, p.
243.)
When the
King of Bulgaria became a convert to Catholicism, he persecuted those of his
subjects who refused to follow his example. This earned him the following
praise from Pope Nicholas I:
"I glorify
you for having maintained your authority by putting to death those wandering
sheep who refuse to enter the fold, and you not only have not sinned by showing
a holy rigor, but I even congratulate you upon having opened the kingdom of
heaven to the people submitted to your rule. A king need not fear to command
massacres, when these will retain his subjects in obedience, or cause them to
submit to the faith of Christ, and God will reward him in this world, and in
eternal life, for these murders." (Source: ibid., Gihon, p. 244.)
Saint Pope
Gregory VII (pope from June 30, 1073, to May 25, 1085):
Pope Gregory
VIIFrom the pope's Dictatus Papae, of 1075, we quote the following stunning
papal declarations:
"That
the Roman pontiff alone can with right be called universal."
"That
he alone may use the imperial insignia."
"That
of the pope alone all princes shall kiss the feet."
"That
his name alone shall be spoken in the churches."
"That
this title [Pope] is unique in the world."
"That
it may be permitted to him to depose emperors."
"That
no synod shall be called a general one without his order."
"That
no chapter and no book shall be considered canonical without his
authority."
"That
he himself may be judged by no one."
"That
the Roman church has never erred; nor will it err to all eternity, the
Scripture bearing witness."
"That
the Roman pontiff, if he have been canonically ordained, is undoubtedly made a
saint by the merits of St. Peter; St. "Ennodius, bishop of Pavia, bearing
witness, and many holy fathers agreeing with him. As is contained in the
decrees of St. Symmachus the pope."

he may absolve subjects from their fealty to wicked men."

Peter was invested with the fullness of power [plenitudo potestatis]. See then
what manner of servant this is, appointed over the household; he is indeed the
vicar of Jesus Christ, the successor of St. Peter, the Christ of the Lord, the

and is judged by no one." (Source: Consecration Sermon, c. 1200, see Rome

"[I]n
none of these [Protestant] societies, and not even in all of them taken
together, can in some way be seen the one and Catholic Church which Christ the
Lord built, constituted, and willed to exist. Neither will it ever be able to
be said that they are members and part of that Church as long as they remain
visibly separated from Catholic unity. It follows that such societies, lacking
that living authority established by God, which instructs men in the things of
the faith and in the discipline of the customs, directing and governing them in
all that concerns eternal salvation, they continuously mutate in their
doctrines without that mobility and the instability they find one end. Everyone
therefore can easily comprehend and fully reckon that this is absolutely in
contrast with the Church instituted by Christ the Lord, in which the truth must
always remain constant and never subject to change whatsoever, deposited as if
it were into a warehouse, entrusted to be guarded perfectly whole. To this purpose,
it has received the promise of the perpetual presence and the aid of the Holy
Spirit. No one then ignores that from these dissentions [disagreements] in
doctrines and opinions derive social divisions, which find their origin in
these innumerable communions and which are always and increasingly diffused
with grave damage[s] to the Christian and civil society." (Source:

the Lord is one;' 'the massive foundation of the great Christian state has been
divinely built upon, as it were, this rock, this very firm stone;' 'this Chair,
which is unique and the first of gifts, has always been designated and
considered as the Chair of Peter;' 'shining forth throughout the world it

"The
priest has the power of the keys, or the power of delivering sinners from Hell,
of making them worthy of Paradise, and of changing them from the slaves of
Satan into the children of God. And God Himself is obliged to abide by the
judgment of His priests, and either not to pardon or to pardon....
New York
Catechism Quote"Were the Redeemer to descend into a church, and sit in a
confessional to administer the sacrament of penance, and a priest to sit in
another confessional, Jesus would say over each penitent, 'Ego te absolve,' the
priest would likewise say over each of his penitents, 'Ego te absolve,' and the
penitents of each would be equally absolved...
"Thus
the priest may, in a certain manner, be called the creator of his Creator,
since by saying the words of consecration, he creates, as it were, Jesus in the
sacrament, by giving him a sacramental existence, and produces him as a victim
to be offered to the eternal Father...
"Let
the priest," says St. Laurence Justinian, "approach the altar as
another Christ." (Source: St. Alphonsus Liguori, The Dignities and Duties
of the Priest (1927))
"The
Pope takes the place of Jesus Christ on earth...by divine right the Pope has
supreme and full power in faith, in morals over each and every pastor and his
flock. He is the true vicar, the head of the entire church, the father and
teacher of all Christians. He is the infallible ruler, the founder of dogmas,
the author of and the judge of councils; the universal ruler of truth, the
arbiter of the world, the supreme judge of heaven and earth, the judge of all,
being judged by no one, God himself on earth." (Source: Quoted in the New
York Catechism.)
"Even
if the Pope were Satan incarnate, we ought not to raise up our heads against
him, but calmly lie down to rest on his bosom. He who rebels against our Father
is condemned to death,Catherine of Siena Quote for that which we do to him we
do to Christ: we honor Christ if we honor the Pope; we dishonor Christ if we
dishonor the Pope. I know very well that many defend themselves by boasting:
'They are so corrupt, and work all manner of evil!' But God has commanded that,
even if the priests, the pastors, and Christ-on-earth were incarnate devils, we
be obedient and subject to them, not for their sakes, but for the sake of God,
and out of obedience to Him." (Source: St. Catherine of Siena, SCS, p.

"Like
two sacred rivers flowing from paradise, the Bible and divine tradition contain
the word of God, the precious gems of revealed truths. Though these two divine
streams are in themselves, on account of their divine origin, of equal
sacredness, and are both full of revealed truths, still of the two, tradition
is to us more clear and safe." (Source: Catholic Belief, Joseph Faa di
Bruno, p. 45.)
David S.
Phelan (Catholic Priest) Quote"I never invite an angel down from heaven to
hear mass here. The is not the place for angels. The only person in heaven I
ever ask to come down here is Jesus Christ, and Him I command to come down. He
has to come when I bid him. I took bread in my fingers this morning and said:
'This is the body and blood of Jesus Christ', and He had to come down. This is
one of the things He must do. He must come down every time I say mass at my
bidding....I do it in obedience, reverence, homage, and adoration, but I do it,
and when I do it, Christ must obey." (Source: Roman Catholic Priest David
S. Phelan, The Western Watchman (St. Louis: Western Watchman Publishing
Company), June 10, 1915.)
"The
Pope is of so great dignity and so exalted that he is not a mere man, but as it
were God, and the vicar of God....Hence the Pope is crowned with a triple
crown, as King of Heaven and of earth and of the lower regions....The Pope is
at it were God on earth,...chief King of kings,...to whom has been entrusted by
the omnipotent God directions...of the heavenly kingdom." (Source: Lucius

"The
Roman Pontiff, head of the college of bishops, enjoys this infallibility in
virtue of his office, when, as Supreme Pastor and teacher of all the
faithful--who confirms his brethren in the faith--he proclaims by a definitive
act a doctrine pertaining to faith or morals....The infallibility promised to
the Church is also present in the body of bishops when, together with Peter’s
successor, ‘they exercise the supreme Magisterium,’ above all in an Ecumenical
Council. When the Church through its supreme Magistrium proposes a doctrine ‘for
belief as being divinely revealed,’ and as the teaching of Christ, the
definitions ‘must be adhered to with the obedience of faith.’ This
infallibility extends as far as the doposit of divine revelation itself."

Compare the
above statement with Scripture:
"You
shall not add to the word that I command you nor take from it that you may keep
the commandments of Yahuwah your Eloah that I command you." (See
Deuteronomy 4:2.)
"Whatever
I command you, be careful to observe it; you shall not add to it nor take away
from it." (See Deuteronomy 12:32.)
"Every
word of Eloah is pure: He is a shield unto them that put their trust in Him.
Add thou not unto His words, lest He reprove thee, and thou be found a
liar." (See Proverbs 30:5-6.)
"For I
testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If
any man shall add unto these things, Yahuwah shall add unto him the plagues that
are written in this book." (See Revelation 22:19.)

"The
Pope’s authority is unlimited, incalculable; it can strike, as Innocent III
says, wherever sin is; it can punish every one; it allows no appeal and is
itself Sovereign Caprice; for the Pope carries, according to the expression of
Boniface VIII, all rights in the Shrine of his breast. As he has now become
infallible, he can by the use of the little word, 'orbi,' (which means that he
turns himself round to the whole Church) make every rule, every doctrine, every
demand, into a certain and incontestable article of Faith. No right can stand
against him, no personal or corporate liberty; or as the Canonists put
it." (Source: 'The tribunal of God and of the pope is one and the same.'

Quote"Therefore the decision of the Pope and the decision of God
constitute one decision....Since, therefore, an appeal is always made from an
